This property is located south-west of the City of Londonderry in Northern Ireland and is ideal for enjoying a relaxing holiday in peaceful, rural surroundings. Situated on a working farm just 3.5 miles from the historic walled city of Derry, which was the UK City of Culture in 2013, visitors can enjoy fabulous views of rolling countryside overlooking the River Foyle in one direction and Co Donegal in the other. A wide range of attractions and activities are on offer which include golf, sailing, cycling, fishing, historic and scenic walks and enjoy a choice of a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, theatres and cinemas. Both are also within easy reach of the Giants Causeway to the East, the golden tranquil beaches of Donegal to the West and the Ulster American Folk Park to the South, to name just a few. The Gatelodge’ was built in the late 1800’s by the present owner’s great grandfather. For most of that time it has been occupied by people connected directly to the estate. In 2011 it was extended and extensively renovated to modern day standards while retaining many of the traditional aspects of its original character / purpose.
